Ogun State Police Arrests 300 Cultist Within 24hrs

Following the recent cultist clash among students suspected to be from the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic that occurred in Ago Odo, Elega area of Abeokuta, Ogun State capital on Monday, the police have warned all club house owners to close at 10pm
Speaking on daybreak show, Citizens’ Forum, broadcast between 9:30am — 11:00am on Rock city 101.9 FM. Mr Muyiwa Adejobi, the Police Public Relations Officer said all club houses should be closed by 10pm. Also, commercial motorcyclist, popularly known as Okada rider have been given a mandate not to operate beyond 8:30pm on all roads on the state.

He said this has become necessary, following a new wave of cult activities in the state. He described violent attacks by cultist as new and unprecedented in the state.
Adejobi also called on residents of communities, other security agencies in the state to assist in this regard. He confirmed that 84 suspects were arrested at Igbesa in Ado Odo Local Government. out of these numbers, 51 of them have been found culpable, while the others released. Another set of 300 were also arrested in different areas of Abeokuta
