Microsoft mistakenly kicked off pre-orders for Nokia’s Lumia 1520earlier this week with a promise of a November 15th release, but the 6-inch handset is actually arriving on November 22nd. Both AT&T and Microsoft are now accepting pre-orders for the Lumia 1520 with a release set for the same day as Microsoft’s Xbox One console. With rumorsof a November 22nd launch for Nokia’s Lumia 2520 tablet, it could be a busy and expensive day for consumers looking to purchase Microsoft’s latest offerings.
AT&T’s Lumia 1520 will be available in matte black, yellow, and white, with a glossy red version too. While international variants of the Lumia 1520 will include built-in Qi wireless charging, AT&T versions require an optional shell accessory that makes use of the rival PMA standard. Initially, the US carrier only plans to offer a 16GB model of the handset, but a 32GB version will be available "in the near future." The 6-inch device does include a microSD though, so storage shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Nokia’s Lumia 1520 is powered by Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with a giant 6-inch 1080p display, and it also includes a 20-megapixel camera that provides similar PureView zoom capabilities of the Lumia 1020 in a lower-resolution package.
